We're a husband and wife team working out of our home in Longmont, Colorado. Our businesses are primarily local to the Front Range area, but we are also branching out across the country (we also have reps in eight states).
Kat has a Master's in English and Technical Writing and a Bachelor's degree in Business and English Education from New Mexico State University. She has a number of years of experience in direct-marketing businesses. Her first was with A.L. Williams (now Primerica) selling life insurance and securities. During this time, she obtained her investment licenses and also sold securities through the company (mutual funds, 401(k)'s, etc.). She quickly rose through the ranks at ALW, becoming a regional vice-president after only six months. After graduating from college, she moved into the world of corporate America as a technical writer. She eventually worked her way up to become a test engineer with AT&sT Bell Labs (now Avaya). Her life was turned upside down during their first big layoff in 2002. The job market for telecom engineers was just not there, so she went back to what she had been successful at - direct-sales marketing. This time, she explored Avon.
In the four years she has been in leadership with Avon, she has attained the second-highest level for a representative - Executive Unit Leader. To make this level, you must have six Unit Leaders under you, as well as twenty representatives directly under you. Your combined unit must place $17,500 in sales per campaign, and you must have personal sales of $350. Kat has achieved the level of Honor Society, which requires sales over $20,200 per year. At the 2004 President's Club award ceremony, in addition to being recognized for her Executive Unit Leader and Sales Performance accomplishments, Kat was awarded the prestigious Spirit of Avon award. This award is given to a single representative per district (our district currently consists of 600 representatives), and a representative may only win this award once in their entire career with Avon.
Bryan has a Bachelor's of Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University, and is currently employed with Cisco Systems in Boulder, Colorado as a software engineer. He is involved part-time with Kat's various business ventures.
